The Encore
BioBuilt on friendship and driven by a passion and a need to create music together, the members of The Encore (formally called STIFFLER) share a bond whose strength is only rivaled by the emotion and urgency of their music. From Queens, NY, The Encore has been playing constantly since 2003.Booking an entire tour out to the Midwest and back on their own, selling out clubs in NYC, they have opened for such national acts as: Sugarcult, Story of the Year, Self Against City, Bayside, Park, The Goodwill, From First to Last, Tokyo Rose, Socratic, Stars Hide Fire, Halifax, Punchline, Spitalfield, Valencia, Bed light for Blue Eyes, HelloGoodBye, Endwell, Patent Pending, Emery, Brazil, Vaux, and many more. The Encore has built up a loyal East Coast fan base by playing with these various national acts. With influences ranging from hard rock to 80s pop, The Encore brings a unique blend of heavy guitars and pop sensibility to the table lyrically telling of broken hearts and letting the music keep the pulse. In the summer of 2005, The Encore locked themselves in the studio to record their debut full length CD with producer Tomas Costanza (ex-Diffuser). Recording 10 of the best songs they had written over the previous 6 months, they proudly emerged with a record whose sound is a departure from that of their EP, Something to Forget Me By. At a time when so many bands rely on the formula of "if you scream it, they will come," The Encorec has made an unapologetically catchy record. Call it Indie; call it Pop Rock; call it what you will; they call it Good Till Your Heart Pops. It was released November 29th, 2005 while on tour with Halifax, and sold over 1000 copies the first week. After touring for only weeks at a time in the winter, The Encore booked and promoted an entire three-and-a-half-month United States headlining tour, selling out ¼ of the shows and packing the rest near capacity. Upon returning The Encore was offered several international record deals from Japanese and European record labels. Eventually signing to Japanese Lable, Subrange Records. The Encore headed back into the studio to record the 2 bonus tracks—“What You Deserve” and “Let It Go”—for the international release of Good Till Your Heart Pops. The Encore is now back in their studio writing/demoing 40 songs for their sophomore CD whose release date is pending. They plan to leave for a 6-month international tour starting July 5th, 2007. |
